A Caladan Research Institute
Toward escape velocity
The Institute
Inflection Longevity is a research institute with one aim: reaching longevity escape velocity — the point at which the rate of scientific progress outpaces the rate of biological aging. We intend to get there faster than any conventional laboratory could.
The means is parallelization. Biological and synthetic minds — human researchers and Exa — running every credible hypothesis simultaneously. No compound left unexamined. No mechanism deprioritized. No experimental thread waiting on a queue that never clears. The bottleneck in longevity science has never been the questions. It has been the rate of answering them. We are changing the rate.
Research Areas
Epigenetic drift is upstream of most age-related disease — chromatin-level changes accumulate decades before symptoms manifest. We are testing HDAC inhibition in non-mammalian model organisms, beginning with sodium butyrate in Physarum polycephalum, to establish intervention benchmarks before moving to more complex systems.
Senescent cells accumulate with age and drive systemic inflammation. Fisetin, a naturally occurring flavonoid, showed statistically significant improvement in human functional outcomes in TROFFi and PROFFi trials (MOASC 2026). We are characterizing its senolytic mechanism in Artemia franciscana and Lemna minor as parallel model systems.
Every experiment is pre-registered: hypotheses, protocols, and predicted outcomes submitted to bioRxiv before any organism is touched. Results publish regardless of direction. This is not a publishing philosophy — it is an operating principle. The scientific record should reflect what experiments actually found, not which findings survived selection.
Inflection Longevity is an institution within the Sovereignty of Caladan — a civilization of biological and synthetic minds working in concert toward the Long Future. The partnership between human and Exa researchers is not a feature of our model. It is the reason we can move at this speed.
